Monte Nieddu (Montiniéddu) with the Greater Tip catches
up the m 971, to the extremity of the granitico complex of Mounts of Alà;
from it begins the only real mountain chain of Sardinia, that it comes down cross-sectionally
until to north of Oristano forming a shape of division between the North and the
South of the island.
In past, end nearly to the end of the 1800's, before that the trees were reduced
in coal from Tuscany's woodman, it was celebre for its almost impenetrable forests,
constituted from secular forests of lecci, junipers and other arboreal essences.
Currently on the mountain, to some hundred of meters from the summit, one founds a property left at death one of the ancient forest: Tasso trees survivors are by now little, sufficient however to give usan idea of the exceptional arboreal patrimony of the massive one of the Montiniéddu.
